Program Achieve at Prospect Primary School

Program Achieve is a social skills curriculum series from Reception to Year 12 that teaches students about the Four Foundations of Successful Learning. The programme focuses on achieving success and emotional well-being for all students. Staff and parents have agreed to implement this programme at Prospect Primary School.

The Four Foundations of Successful Learning are called 'The Keys to Success' and focus on the following area

Confidence Persistence Organisation Getting Along

Program Achieve helps children to achieve positive 'Habits of the Mind'. A habit of the mind is the way a person thinks. Having positive habits of the mind leads to success and and fulfilment of potential, whereas negative habits of the mind lead to lack of success and under achievement.

There are 11 Habits of the Mind that the programme focuses on:

Accepting Myself Setting Goals
Taking Risks Planning My Time
Being Independent Being Tolerant of Others
Believing I Can Do It! Thinking First
Giving Effort Playing By the Rules
Working Tough  

Program Achieve also teaches students how to think rationally and to eliminate the negative mindset that is associated with anxiety/low self esteem, work avoidance, general disorganisation and rebelliousness/anger.

Children are taught how to dispute irrational beliefs.
